Consultation with the Public 

Draft of National Competition Policy
The recommendations of the Final Report included that "A National Competition Policy for PNG should be formulated and introduced, following public consultation on a draft version." A draft PNG National Competition Policy is now available for comment. All relevant comments are welcomed (with a deadline of Friday 15 June 2018) and will be taken into consideration by Treasury in finalising the proposed policy. 
Final Report and Recommendations 
The Final Report and Recommendations set out the Review Team's findings and recommendations to Treasury. In April 2018 the National Executive Committee accepted the Final Report as submitted and approved the implementation of the recommendations in their entirety.
Public Report and Recommendations

The Public Report and Recommendations sets out the Review Team's findings and proposed recommendations to Treasury, for consideration and comment by all interested individuals, groups and businesses. All relevant comments are welcomed (with a deadline of Friday 5 May 2017) and will be taken into consideration by the Review Team, in finalising their report and recommendations to Treasury. 

Workshops with Businesses

In order to inform members of the public about the Consumer and Competition Framework Review, and to seek the views of members of the public, workshops have been held in Port Moresby, Lae, Kokopo (May 19) and Goroka (May 20). The workshop presentation may be downloaded here. Please contact your local Chamber of Commerce for further details.

Consumer Focus Groups

A series of focus group sessions will be held in PNG cities and towns to gather information on the experiences and opinions of consumers.

Issues Paper 3 - Industry Regulation and Price Oversight

The Third Issues Paper, available here, seeks comments regarding price control and the regulation of PNG Power, PNG Ports, Post PNG and third party motor vehicle insurance in PNG. Issues Paper 2 - Competitive Markets and Fair Trading

The Second Issues Paper is available, raising issues for comment regarding competition safeguards, review of mergers, and the environment for competition in PNG generally. The consultation period is open until Tuesday 31 May, 2016. Interested groups and individuals are encouraged to provide their comments by email to: comment@CCFReview.info or by telephone to +675 321 0400 (please ask for 'the Competition Review'). This Issues Paper will be available in the third quarter of 2015.

Issues Paper 1 - Consumer Protection and Economic Empowerment of Women

The First Issues Paper, available here, raises consumer protection issues and issues concerning the economic empowerment of women, for comment by all interested organisations and individuals in PNG.
