Price Controls and Productivity Reviews
The ICCC performs a price monitoring function in relation to certain foodstuffs and controls the prices of certain services. The ICCC also carries out productivity reviews in particular industries, on an occasional basis.
The Consumer & Competition Framework Review will examine the ICCC's price monitoring, price control and productivity review functions and make recommendations to promote competitive and productive markets throughout the economy.
Businesses who trade in declared goods or services, as well as consumers of those goods or services, are encouraged to provide comments to the Review Team.
Price controls and productivity reviews are addressed in the Third Issues Paper, available for download here.
